Bob
Clearmountain's Current Discography
Updated June 27, 2007 |
|
After playing bass with various Connecticut bar bands during the late 60's and early 70's, Bob began engineering records at New York's Mediasound Studios in 1972. In 1977 he joined the staff of the newly formed Power Station Studios (now known as Avatar Studios) as their chief recording engineer, making a substantial contribution to it's design. During the early 80's he became independent when he began producing and mixing records for a wide variety of artists. Besides establishing himself as quite a successful producer with acts like Bryan Adams, Simple Minds and the Pretenders, he has also maintained a reputation for getting the best out of tracks recorded by other top producers through his versatile mixing talents. He is as equally at home mixing Semisonic or Shawn Colvin as he is with the live worldwide television broadcasts of "Live Aid" or "The Concert For New York City". Bob is also known for his series of best selling CD/CD ROMs of drums, bass and percussion samples. Many of these samples have been used by other producers, mixers and artists on countless recordings.
